CHILD 2 is determined to get something from God through prayer, and is trying every trick imaginable — rocking, candles, kneeling, special "thees and thous" — convinced that the right technique will force God's hand. CHILD 1 patiently explains that prayer isn't a vending machine, and that knowing Jesus changes everything about how and why we pray.

BOY is excited; GIRL is skeptical. The experiment fails spectacularly, and the Professor’s own behavior reveals the flaw in his theory: only Jesus can produce true love, joy, peace, and the rest. His assistants begin to understand what the children already know.
