About This Script
CHILD 1 wonders aloud what the kingdom of heaven is like. GRANDPA suggests they use a time machine to watch one of Jesus's parables play out. They observe two Bible-era children excitedly sharing the news of a man who sold everything he owned to buy a field — because he'd found a priceless treasure hidden inside it. Back in the present, GRANDPA helps CHILD 1 understand that belonging to God's kingdom means giving up everything, and getting something far greater in return.

A cast of stable animals—BABY LAMB, MAMA SHEEP, ROOSTER, and DONKEY—play out the night of Jesus’s birth from their perspective, discovering that the mysterious Someone in the manger is the Son of God. When the children return, CHILD 2 leaves with a new understanding of what Christmas is really about.
